You continue upwards, and the air begins to feel strangely warm. The intricate white marble of a large temple fills your view. Instead of spires at the top of each tower, there are incredible, huge flames.

Clearly, the flames of this Fire Temple have been burning for a long time. It is comfortably warm in these cold mountains, and the flames show no sign of dying out. With such an amazing marvel, you are intrigued, and want to take a closer look at the temple itself.

Cautiously, you push open the heavy marble doors to the Fire Temple and step inside.

A) Explore the Garden
B) Climb the Tower
C) Inspect the Altar

Making your way through the Fire Temple, you walk through into a beautiful garden courtyard, which has been meticulously maintained.

A Hedge Maze is the centrepiece of the garden. In the middle of the maze is a beautiful stone goddess, and in her hand is a key, as red as the brightest flames. You take the key.

Having decided you've lingered too long, you find your way back through the maze and continue up the mountain path.

What interests you most is the set of stairs winding upwards to the top of the tower. With gusto, you climb up the stairs, as they dizzyingly spiral round and round, leading ever upwards.

You finally reach the top of the tower, and are greeted by a wonderful sight. You can see nearly the entire mountain from this vantage point! Squinting, you manage to spot the Black Castle from earlier in your trip. At the Summit, you can see a glitter of gold. You wonder what it could be?

Your eyes turn to a simple altar in the room. It is made of stone, and lying on it is a key, as red as the brightest flames. You take it.

Having decided you've lingered too long, you follow the stairs back downwards and continue up the mountain path.

You step reverently towards the altar in the centre of the room. It is carved with a beautiful fire motif, and has two statues on either side watching over it. You can't help but feel that you're intruding on a sacred place.

The centre of the altar lights up! Flames dance on the surface of the altar and before you know it, they have vanished. All that remains is a key, as red as the flames you just saw. Was the key there a moment ago?

You carefully reach for the key, and are surprised to find that it is cool to touch. How mysterious! Having decided you've lingered too long, you leave the Fire Temple, closing the doors behind you. You continue up the mountain path.
